I've spent my career helping homeowners find solutions to improve their homes, designing over $20 millions in renovation projects. I even created an app to help homeowners plan and navigate through a renovation.
Now, instead of continuing to develop award winning homes one at a time, or apps with limited reach, I'm openly sharing ideas, insights and possibilities beyond the current housing ecosystem we're in. I'll be speaking on these 6 topics:
Housing developments and opportunities
Financial systems for housing and equity
Architecture, interiors and design
Building science and materials
Home renovation
furniture, Fixtures, and finishes.
To be clear:
Creating this content and newsletter is my primary occupation. I'll provide massive value through shared ideas and information. While the majority of the content will be free, in time I will also offer products, courses, or books for purchase.
However, my ultimate objective extends beyond digital products; it centers around creating housing developments. Creating physical products and spaces to improve our way of living.
I've enjoyed designing private homes and collaborating with wonderful clients, and much as I transitioned from furniture design to interiors and finally to architecture, it feels natural that my next endeavor should focus on housing development.
I aspire to be a developer of exceptional living spaces.
Creating new housing is an idea that occupies my thoughts constantly, and it's in its early stages. The vision will evolve as I continue this public journey.
Here are the three pillars to this manifesto:
Build housing by reasoning from first principles, linking design with manufacturing, transportation, building systems, operations and maintenance.
Empower people with desirable homes, community, hospitality and services. Because this is integral to the experience.
Redefine affordability by offering financially sensible options with opportunities to start, grow and transitions as your needs change at different life stages.
Now, I have a confession to make:
I purchased my house back in 2005, and over the years, I've made substantial changes and investments in this century-old home. Which still serves me well today. However, I'm at a point where I'm pondering what's next. Most of my net worth is tied up in my home, and I'm exploring how to make my money work smarter.
While my investments in REITs have performed admirably, I don't see myself as a traditional landlord or Airbnb manager. Those weekends spent on renovation projects and home upkeep have left me yearning for a change.
Truth be told, I can envision myself living in a beautiful apartment with a terrace, part of a like-minded community.
